As far as ac/arti goes i usually have both and fit depending on the fleet size. ACs for when I'm alone or in a small gang and arties for anything above like 5-6 people.

Try running exploration sites in low/null sec. The isk isn't as reliable but it adds some spice when a hostile player could land on you (your cargo no doubt full of decryptors/t2 salvage) at any moment.

-As fleet boosters -Yes, sitting in a safe with links running is the way to go. You wont have much fun but you will be a srs credit to team (and less at risk of losing an expensive ship). -Yeah you get the benefits as long as you are in a fleet.
